PAUL KANTNER founded JEFFERSON AIRPLANE in 1965. THE AIRPLANE were the biggest rock group in America during the 1960s and the first San Francisco band to sign a major record deal, paving the way for other legends like GRATEFUL DEAD & JANIS JOPLIN. They headlined the original WOODSTOCK FESTIVAL in 1969 and like THE BEATLES with whom they are critically compared, lasted a mere 7 years...though their influence and impact on rock music continues well into the 21st century. In 1974 Mr. KANTNER created JEFFERSON STARSHIP and again enjoyed chart-topping success. PAUL, & JEFFERSON AIRPLANE were inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1996, the same year as PINK FLOYD.

JEFFERSON STARSHIP, the name created by PAUL for his 1971 solo debut “Blows Against The Empire” recording, has endured 40 years as one of rock's most legendary bands. That recording was the first and only to ever be nominated for literary science fiction’s Hugo Award…a stellar achievement. Co-founder DAVID FREIBERG also started the legendary QUICKSILVER MESSENGER SERVICE, the Fillmore era San Francisco band who often shared the bill with THE DEAD &THE AIRPLANE). DAVID is a world famous singer, producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He was also a member of JEFFERSON AIRPLANE, and co-wrote one of JEFFERSON STARSHIP's all-time biggest hits, “Jane” – which he performs.

Jefferson Starship will perform Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Harrah's Lake Tahoe's South Shore Room at 7:30 p.m.

2013 marks the 20th Anniversary of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy's remarkable arrival onto the music scene. In it's first years, having secured their legendary residency at the Derby nightclub in Los Angeles, they reminded the world—in the middle of the grunge era, no less—that it was still cool to swing, big band style. Today the high-energy nine-piece ensemble continues the party and takes things to the next level with the release of RATTLE THEM BONES. The follow-up to the much lauded 2009 release, How Big Can You Get?: The Music of Cab Calloway, Rattle Them Bones still urges their millions of fans worldwide to shake and move to their inimitable grooves while also expanding their horizons with new musical inspiration and influence.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy will perform Saturday, June 1 at Harrah's Lake Tahoe's South Shore Room.

The announcement of the 2013 touring season by the Steve Miller Band follows four of the most busy, productive years in the long, illustrious career of Steve Miller, an artist at the peak of his powers, in demand around the world, whether returning for his second tour of Europe in two years last year or headed off on his New Zealand Australia tour in spring 2013.

Miller has released not one, but two new albums – the 2010 number one blues album,“Bingo,” and its successor, “Let Your Hair Down” – the first new Steve Miller Band records in eighteen years (“cause for celebration,” said the Huffington Post). The two albums featured artwork by noted Pink Floyd artist Storm Thorgerson and the final recordings of longtime Steve Miller Band member Norton Buffalo, Miller’s “partner in harmony” for thirty-three years, who died from cancer in October 2009.

One of rock music’s all-time greats, the Steve Miller Band has sold more than 30 million records in a career
spanning more than 40 years. His trademark blues-rock sound made him one of the key artists in classic rock radio. The Steve Miller Band is brand name rock that millions have come to trust.

Steve Miller Band with special guest Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers will be at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys Lake Tahoe, Saturday, June 22, at 7:00 p.m. Price starts at $39.50.

If ever an artist has earned the right to title an album "This Is Country Music," it's Brad Paisley. It's not because he's the Country Music Association's reigning Entertainer of the Year or because his H2O Tour was 2010's top country trek in attendance or because he's sold more than  12 million albums and scored 18 #1 hits at country radio. Paisley's ninth studio album is titled "This Is Country Music" because this is the singer/songwriter/guitar virtuoso's heartfelt homage to the music he's loved since childhood.

Don't miss Dave Mathews Band with special guest Gary Clark Jr. on Wednesday, September 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys Lake Tahoe. Tickets start at $75.00.

Any slap-happiness could prove epidemic as fans and newcomers get their hands on Dave Matthews Band’s seventh studio long-player. Although the fairy tale-sounding album title is “a mouthful,” as Matthews admits, perhaps the key part of it to keep in mind at the outset is… big. Producer Rob Cavallo, who’s working with the group for the first time, isn’t known for tiny or timid recordings—not with a recent track record that includes Green Day’s American Idiot and Kid Rock’s Rock N Roll Jesus. Any stereotypes about a stock DMB sound immediately get all shook up in the wake of the opening track, “Shake Me Like a Monkey,” which features an Earth, Wind & Fire-style horn section that can only be described as punchy. That recurrent brassiness gives way to a string section on three tracks. But the largest part of the group’s largess may come from how Matthews, traditionally an acoustic guy, has fully embraced the electric guitar—not just in his own playing but that of highly regarded axeman/pal Tim Reynolds.
